The Bahai Temples
The Bahai faith has been founded for over 100 years and it’s a phenomenal on its own. The Bahai Temple and faith has been established in more than 204 countries worldwide and it normally preaches of unity and love. The Bahai House of worship also referred to as the Dawning Place of the mention of God is a place where most of the people go for healing, relaxation and they want to also include education and justices to fight for people’s rights.
The Bahai faith believes that all religions share the same spiritual truth and that there is one true creator for all of us. Bahai faith was founded at a time when the world was divided over both religion and the nationwide. There were people who were always praying and preaching for unity but this was all lost when they fronted religion as being more important and this is when a man named Baha’u’llah came in and founded the Bahai faith.
The Bahai religion is one of the youngest religions in the world with just about seven million followers. The first Bahai temple was built in 1902 in Ashgabat modern day Turkey. It was closed down after it was handed over to the soviet rule. The next temple was built in North America and that is why the North American temple is known as the mother Temple of the west and this makes it the oldest surviving Bahai temple in the whole world.
The Bahai faith has all been about unity and they have their own laws, Holy days, their own Holy book and writings and also possess their own religious calendar. The Bahai faith possesses certain principles that we are all bound to follow and these include the following:

There has to be compulsory education for all.

There has to be unity in the community and world.

There has to be a striking harmony between the religious truth and science.
The people in the Bahai faith do not baptize but when their children make fifteen years, they are made to profess their faith and after that, they are given declaration cards which prove that they now belong to the Bahia temple. There is also a minimum of three prayers said by the Bahai people and these are all mandatory and they should be said as they are written in the holy prayer book of the Bahai faith. This book also contains the rules that have been written above and a brief background on how the Bahai live n the faith shows that they do not have a specific date for prayer like Sunday but they can choose a day that is convenient for them to say their prayers.
There is no strict attire for the Bahai followers as they go for prayers but they should be decent enough. The Bahai Temples are always full to the capacity on big occasions like the consecutive two days towards the birthday of Baha’u’llah which is celebrated worldwide and the two days are commonly known as the Twin Holy Birthdays. The Bahai have eleven Holy days throughout their religious calendar and to note the twin Holy Birthdays are always celebrated in either November or October.

The Bahai house of worship in Haifa
The Bahai house of worship in Haifa is a gold Dom shaped shrine whose construction started in 1884 and was completed in 1863. This is known to be the administrative centre of the Bahai faith in the world. The lush gardens surrounding it add a good scenery to the Temple. The declaration of Baha’u’llah was done in 1863 after the complete construction of the Haifa house. The word Baha’u’llah means Glory of God as translated into English. The shrine is a holy place and it is used for various activities like worship, prayer and to oversee that there is peace and unity in the world.
Baha’i house of Worship in India
Also known as the lotus temple, the worship house was beautifully constructed in form of the Lotus flower and it was designed by an Iranian designer Fariborz sahba and it is located in the capital city of India. The temple sits on. 26 acre land and was completed in 1986. It has 27 lotus Petal like structures and has nine entrances which are caused by the three petals which are clustered togetherness. The temple has many architectural awards due to how it was constructed.
The temple is close on Mondays but opens from Tuesday to Sunday from 8:00am to 7:00pmand it is located near the Kalkaji temple in New Delhi and it has a capacity of 2500 people irrelevant of the religion and race.
The Baha’i Temple, Ugandan
Located on kikaaya Hill in the capital city of Uganda Kampala, the temple was constructed for four years from 1958 to 1962 and it was constructed in form of the traditional hut where people live. It was constructed in the shape of a dome and is green in color. The interior is so unique in that when you enter the temple, it feels like the deep blue skies and the green fields outside. Although many people in Uganda who belong to the Bahai faith pray on Sunday, it is not mandatory and they can pray on whichever day is convenient for them. There are also other ten evenly distributed Bahai Centers spread throughout the country so that people can easily access the temples.
The Bahai temple in Uganda is almost at 38 meters high and at the time of its construction, it was the tallest building in East Africa. The sitting capacity of the Bahai temple in Uganda is 400 people only and it is colored blue on the inside while the outside has a green and mosaic tiles which are white.
Baha’i Temple of worship, North America
The construction of the Baha’i Temple in North America started in 1912and ended in 1953. It was built in gardens with a fountain Hall and it is considered as one of the seven wonders of Illinois and it is one of the largest and oldest Baha’i Houses of worship in the whole world. The dome rises to a height of 135 feet from the floor and the designs that have been put on the walls is a sight to see.
The temple is open from 6:00am to 10:00pm in the night and it is located at 100 Linden Ave in the United States.
The Baha’i house of worship in Samoa
This temple was built in 1979 and the Samoa King Malietoa Tanumafili after becoming the first reigning King to become a Baha’i in the year 1984. This temple is on a 20 acre piece of land and it is known as the Mother Temple of Pacific Islands. You can visit the temple between 6:00am and 6:00pm and view the pretty prayer gardens that have a variety of flora and the 92 feet dome that soars high to the sky. It is a beautiful temple that is worth visiting. You should also know that there is a free bus which leaves at 9:15am from the Bahai centre in Apia and returns in at 11:30 am. So if you do not want to spend money on transportation, then this is the best time to visit the temple using the free bus.
The Bahia Temple of worship in Germany
The Bahia Temple in Germany was opened in 1964 and it covers over 29068 square meters. It is located in the mountains of Taunus and it has a beautiful and unique architecture which was designed by Rocholl Teuto. The temple has a 540 diamond shaped window which gives off an exquisite sight especially when the sun is rising and setting. You can visit the place from 9:00am to 5:00pm every day in Frankfurt, Hesse Germany.
The Baha’i House of worship in Australia
The Baha’i Temple in Australia is sitting on nine acres of land and has very beautiful and lush gardens and it was constructed in 1961. It is a major tourist attraction in Australia with a height of 38 meters from the floor. It is located in Sydney in the North next to the beaches and you will enjoy a visit to the place due to its serene beauty. And it is open from 9:00am to 5:00pm and in December and January it is open on weekends from 9:00am to 7:00pm. The Bahai temple in Australia also offers a place where one can reflect, pray, learn more about the Bahai faith and enjoy the luxurious gardens surrounding it.
