Kasese Hotel

There are many hotels in Kasese (970 metres above sea level) and for the traveller who is happy to accept local standards accommodation is ample. The

Marghertia Hotel

is probably the better of all the hotels but realistically is not good value at $90 per room however the

White House Hotel

offers good standards and basic comfort with a good restaurant and bar.

Fort Portal 1,450 metres above sea level and 95 kilometres from Kasese however does offer quality accommodation particually at the

Mountains of the Moon Hotel

and

Fort Motel.

The drive from Fort Portal takes about two hours but is worth the effort as accomodation is excellent and the weather cool. Fort Portal is surrounded by beautiful tea estates on the hill tops with the Rwenzori Mountains as a backdrop creating a beautiful atmosphere.

is our choice as it offers good rooms, excellent meals, great service, good standard in a quite environment just near the Fort Portal Golf Club. The rooms are lavashly furnished and give the comfort and relaxation of a traditional yet modern home. www.fortmotel.com The drive from Kilembe in the Rwenzori Mountains to Fort Portal takes about two hours but it is great to relax take a sauna relax around the pool enjoy  fantastic meals and then sleep in luxury after completing your climb up the mountains.

Rujuna Guest House, Fort Portal

Rujuna Guest House is a large country house where you get a big welcome and great hospitality. To get to the guest house you drive about ten kilometres south of Fort Portal and turn to the left at the sign. Rujuna is set on top of a hill has fantastic lawns and a peaceful environment. unquestionably the pick of the budget hotels and good value for money. Offers good standards, clean, basic comfort with a good restaurant and bar, the service is good and staff cheerful. Has a good internet cafe.

in the center of town has fair accomodation with a bar and disc on the ground floor

Saad Hotel

once the hotel in Kases but in recent years has gone down in standards

Virina Gardens

has several grass thatched cottages in addition to standard rooms. Has a small but green garden setting where you can sit and enjoy a drink. Near the town centre.

Exectutive Hotel

is just as you enter town, rooms are clean and restaurant fair.

12km from Kasese town,

Trekkers Hostel

(formally Rwenzori Backpackers) has good clean rooms and dormitories but not self contained. Set in a deep valley Kilembe is the gateway to the Rwenzori Mountains when climbing the Kilembe trail. The hostel is set in a idilic setting with fantastic views of the mountains and has a good restaurant. Altitude 1,450 metres and cool.

Mountains of the Moon Hotel

fully renovated, excellent gardens and grand porch, rooms are a bit stuffy and over priced but all in all upmarket.

Travellers Inn

is on the main street and offers good accomodation at reasonable rates with a good restaurant. A bit noisy being on the main street. A good place to stop for lunch on the way to or from Kasese.

Rwenzori View Guesthouse

on the outskirts of town, run by a dutch couple, small with excellent accomodation and great meals in a friendly atmosphere.
