Agricultural Engineering in Uganda
Sustainable Agricultural engineering in Uganda
One of the major contributors to the society and the economy since way back in life is Agriculture. For centuries people have engaged in crop and animal husbandry. There are basically two major types of farming: sustainable farming and profitable farming. Sustainable farming relies on self-support and involves one growing enough to feed them and their family. This type of farming is more popular in the third world poorer countries, whereas profitable farming is more common on large scale in the western countries and those that are more developed.
Average families engaged in agriculture are usually equally wealthy and for them agriculture may be a business family that has been practiced for years. Just like all business enterprises, any agriculture business goes through high economic growth that later drops into low economic returns. To enable farmers and business enterprises to flow with the ever fluctuating agricultural sector, it is very important for government to lease the agricultural equipment for a given duration to them. Some of the commonly leased equipment includes: tractors, hay balers, the different ploughs seed-planting machines and harvesters. Other machinery for animal farming includes: graders, cattle truck, small tractors, road trains, cars and other types of heavy machinery. These machines are leased for an agreed duration after which they are returned to the leasing body. This practice is very common in this industry and it has greatly advantaged me and many farmers and business enterprises. The advantages of leased equipment are several among which it saves you from some government levies, equipment servicing, and storage, among many others. The main advantage of leasing agricultural equipment is that it saves you a lot of capital investment. Many farmers cannot afford the cost of purchasing a new harvester or a brand new tractor and yet they require using then during particular seasons of the year.
