This safari will bring you into appreciating the Gorillas and chimps. The Gorillas are rare and endangered species and only about 600 individuals are recorded on Earth with more than a half living in Uganda specifically Bwindi and two other families in Mgahinga National parks. Other primates like a variety monkeys, a variety of birds and flora may be seen enroute. The itinerary below will stretch from Murchison falls, Kibaale, Queen Elizabeth, Bwindi Impenetrable protected areas and Lake Bunyonyi overland but can be tailor made to suite your needs and budget.

Early morning proceed to Murchison Falls National Park through the famous Luwero Triangle and have lunch in Masindi. Proceed through Kaniyo Pabidi to the Top of the falls for sunset. Check in at Red Chilli Rest Camp/Nile Safari Lodge to dinner and overnight.
Head for chimpanzee tracking at Kaniyo Pabidi, other primates like black and white colobus monkeys; vervets may be seen as well as birds. Lunch break then proceed for launch cruise where you will see a variety of bird life, crocodiles along the shorelines among others. Have dinner and over night at Red Chilli Rest Camp/Nile Safari Lodge.
After break fast drive through scenic areas of Lake Albert. Lunch enroute then proceed to Fort Portal through the green forest of Kibale side by side, check in at Ndali Lodge/Kanyanchu.
After breakfast, head to Kibale forest in pursuit of chimpanzees and other primates such as the black and white Colobus monkey vervets, and L’hoest’s monkeys. These delightful creatures (chimps) more closely related to humans than to any other living creature, are tremendous fun to watch as they squabble and play in fruiting trees then have packed lunch. Various tree and plant species, butterflies as well as numerous birds like the great blue turaco, weavers, and woodland kingfishers among others may be seen. The National Park is about 795sqkm engulfing a dense and intense green vegetation that has a network of forest paths providing much joy to nature lovers and especially botanists and birders. The NP is home to over 250 species of birds, over 110species of forest tree species and over 15species of primate. Proceed back to mountain of the moon hotel to dinner and overnight.
Proceed early morning after breakfast to Queen Elizabeth National Park via Kasese driving through the misty Mountain Rwenzori ranges on your right, and beautiful farm lands enroute. Stop over at the Equator for photos and enjoy the scenery of Lakes Edward and George. Lunch at Mweya Safari Lodge, and then proceed for a launch cruise on the Kazinga Channel where you will have watering mouth view of hundreds of bird life like pelicans, cormorants, variety of kingfishers, as well you may view hippos, elephants and crocodiles along the channel banks. Back to dinner and overnight at Mweya, Jacana Safari Lodge/ Albertine Hostel.
Drive early morning for chimpanzee tracking in the Kyambura gorge, along you will view other primates like black and white colobus monkeys, vervet monkeys among others as well enjoy the roars of the falls from the Kyambura River. Back to Mweya to lunch and then proceed for an evening game drive where you may view lions, a variety of antelopes, buffaloes, elephants among others, dinner and overnight at Mweya/ Albertine Hostels.
After early morning breakfast drive south west through the Ishasha sector where you will view fascinating tree climbing lions as well as some birds. Have packed lunch then proceed to Bwindi Impenetrable National Park. Check in at Gorilla Resort dinner and overnight.
Up relatively early for a hearty breakfast to give you the energy needed for your Gorilla trek, you then get a briefing from the park authorities and depart for Gorilla tracking in the tropical rain forest in pursuit of these habituated Gorilla families through the undergrowth and parting thick creepers. Ensure that you have lunch packed for you with bottled water as well. A reasonable degree of fitness is required as well as a sturdy pair of walking shoes. Once up close to the group, a memorable whole one hour is allowed to be with these gentle giants. Sit in the forest among the Gorillas, listen to them grumble to each other and marvel at the sheer size of the dominant male-the Silverback. It’s an extra-ordinary feeling sitting in the dense rainforest knowing you are with a few of these last remaining mountain Gorillas-sadly enough there are only about 650 of these beautiful creatures left. Drive to Kabale through the winding and terraced hills of Kigezi enjoying the scenery of farm lands, lunch break at Kabale and then head to Lake Bunyonyi Overland Camp. Engage in an evening boat ride on Lake Bunyonyi a lava damned lake and one of the deepest lakes in East Africa. Enjoy entertainment from the local traditional groups, dinner and overnight at Bushara Overland Camp/Lake Bunyonyi Overland Camp.
After early morning breakfast drive to Kampala stop over in Mbarara to lunch. Proceed with stop over at the Equator where the northern hemisphere separates the southern hemisphere, as well as we can stop over for fruits or at Mpigi drum making area where you may watch crafting of drums. Arrive in Kampala in the evening and check in at Hotel Africana/Emerald Hotel to dinner and overnight.
