Kasubi Tombs in Uganda has been burnt down. The cause of the fire is yet to be established. The tombs located in Kampala city have been the burial place for Baganda Kings for over 200 years!

This place largely regarded as part of Buganda cultural heritage and ritual home is therefore a loss to the Buganda Kingdom and the tourism of Uganda.

The Kabaka of Buganda Ronald Muwenda Mutebi II has visited Kasubi tombs which were razed to the ground by fire last night.

President Yoweri Museveni has arrived at Kasubi Tombs which were burnt down in a fire last night. The president is at the scene to asses damage to the 200-year old shrine where the Baganda burry their kings. Security personnel had to fire in the air to control crowds that had turned rowdy ahead of the president’s visit.
