Zanzibar Holidays for 2009

Zanzibar
Drive to the harbour to bard the ferry to the spice island of Zanzibar. Covering the island thoroughly, time is spent visiting remote villages and sandy beaches to the north and exploring the mystique of Stone Town. Visit the slave pits and participate in a Zanzibar Holidays spice tour, the food and fruit market is not to be missed.
All meals, except dinner out one night. Return to Dar es Salaam by ferry and camp again to the north of the city.

Arusha, 2 nights camping
A long drive to Arusha where 2 nights are spent camping. Spend a full day curio shopping, exploring the numerous markets and, fingers crossed, admiring views of Mount Kilimanjaro, if the clouds oblige.

Serengeti, 1 night camping
A long day but with plenty of game viewing along the way, arrive at the Seronera camp in the late afternoon to camp the night.The Serengeti National Park is Tanzania’s largest and most famous Park and in this vast sanctuary there still exists the greatest and most spectacular concentration of game animals found anywhere in the world. The Serengeti is famous for both the wildebeest and zebra migration that annually crosses its plains and rivers, as well as for its huge lion population.

Serengeti & Ngorongoro Game viewing
An early morning start for a day of Serengeti game viewing before exiting the Park to head for the campsite on the rim of Ngorongoro Crater.All meals,Descend into the Crater – the world’s largest unbroken, unflooded volcanic caldera. Within its restricted space, exceptional climatic conditions have favoured an explosion of animal life and some 20,000 mammals are permanently in residence. Fingers crossed you will see lion, elephant, spotted hyena, golden jackal, buffalo, zebra, wildebeest, ostrich, zebra, antelope and the lucky will see rhino and leopard as well.After a picnic lunch it is time to exit the Crater and head for Arusha to camp overnight.
Zanzibar Trips, After a final hopeful glimpse of Kilimanjaro head due north to enter Kenya and travel to Nairobi. Overnight in a budget hotel and enjoy a farewell dinner (at your expense).
