With the construction of the long awaited refinery in Hoima, Uganda is expected to start producing 400 barrels of diesel and Kerosene every single day to cater for the local demand.
Next year, Kerosene and Diesel will be produced in Uganda. We shall start with heavy oil and if the flow is good then we shall start producing petrol,” Mr D’ujanga , the Minister of State for Energy said on Friday at the opening ceremony of the National Technology Conference organised by Uganda Institute of Professional Engineers at Hotel Africana.
Uganda will produce its oil products by August next year. The rise of fuel prices and other oil products is a global issue. The drilling of Ugandan oil is timely and will aid the shortage of oil products in the world.
