Construction of Hilton Hotel intensifies

Construction work at Kampala Hilton hotel goes on day and night. The $90m (sh158) hotel owned by Aya group, will be completed earlier and be ready for the Commonwealth summit (CHOGM) to take place in November this year.

The Chairman of the Aya Group, Mohamed Hamid, explained to the economic monitoring state minister, Kagimu Kiwanuka, that new construction technology would be imported from Germany. “Once this technology is here, we shall move fast, it takes about three months to bring it,” he said this during a tour of the hotel’s construction site.

Hamid emphasized that the company will establish a high quality hotel building upon its completion. He however, revealed that if their technical team finds it difficult to complete the hotel by November, the longest they would finish work would be March, 2008.
