Ngamba Island chimpanzee sanctuary is partly composed of a rainforest situated just about 23kms from Entebbe. It supports a rich diversity of natural wildlife, mainly orphaned chimpanzees, more still over 120 species of birds. The sanctuary gives a very conducive environment for orphaned chimpanzees that have been confiscated, harassed in the wild Furthermore providing a high quality educational experience for visitors about chimpanzee behavior. The most exciting is that Visitors have an enjoyable experience as they watch the chimpanzees being fed by the staff twice a day
Good enough the Sanctuary is a non-profit organization which is co-ordinated as well as managed by the Chimpanzee Sanctuary & Wildlife conservation Trust.Lately the santuary is managed by seven trustees namely; the uganda wildlife Authority, uganda wildlife sociaty, Enviroment conservation Trust, the Born free foundation-uk, International fund for Animal welfare and the jane Goodall institute. Each of the organisations or represented on the board by a trustee.
