The most recent Airline, Air Uganda has started its direct flights from Entebbe to Zanzibar. Originally, passengers boarding from Entebbe had to first go through Dar-es-Salaam before proceeding to the islands.

The Commercial Director Vittorio Scabbia said that travel agents have seen a dramatic increase in passenger traffic to Zanzibar, but the problem was about is getting there. Air Uganda saw the niche in the market and with the new direct flight, the market will open up more.
