WEST AFRICANS AWARDED CONTRACT TO CONSTRUCT BUGIRI ROAD

Reynolds Construction Company Ltd of Nigeria and Sonatra Venture of Ghana representatives signed a contract to construct the Bugiri Road a 72.8 km road project that was abandoned last year by TP contactors after a year of rehabilitation work.

Reynolds Construction Company sighned on behalf of the company and Dr. Ezra Suruma on behalf of Uganda government at a function that was attended by the Minister of Works and Transport John Nasasira and his deputy; State Minister Hon. Byabagambi and other senior officials of the ministry and MPs from Jinja, Iganga and Mayuge districts.

The Head of Delegation of the European Commission to Uganda Sigard Illing remarked at the signing of a fresh contract agreement for the resumption of the rehabilitation work of Jinja – Bugiri road.

Project is to be financed by the European Union at a cost of 110 B shs and is to be completed in 2years and 9 months and as financiers of the project, the E.U Head of Delegation called upon the contractor and the supervising Engineer of the ministry of works and Road formation Unit (RAFU) to work together to ensure the successful implementation of the project.
