Uganda telecom last week merged its two brands; Mango – its mobile brand and utl landline. Telecom and mango now become Uganda Telecom Mobile or UT Mobile.
This is aimed at making communication better and serving the customers better. The two will now be marketed together as Uganda telecom. Utl Marketing Manager Hans Paulsen said.
Uganda Telecom has always been the parent brand and Mango a sub-brand, so in the true sense, they have not joined because they were always together, but just marketed separately.
The new campaign slogan is “All About you” which depicts Uganda telecom as a smiling brand.
The logo has a number of parts and each of them stands for a unique meaning. The big circle represents the global approach to services while the two green and orange small circles represent the two people joined in communication.
The green and orange colours are drawn from the mango colours and represent the integration of the two brands. Finally, the U is the U in all about U. it also stands for Uganda and Uganda Telecom.
The biggest achievement is that since we joined the industry, we have been leaders, especially on innovations. We have reshaped the entire communications industry in the country. Said Paulsen
Uganda telecom will also install a state of the art platform, the first in the region that will converge both prepaid landline and mobile services. This will provide a mix of business and personal mobile and landline solutions as well as data.
The biggest achievement is that since we joined the industry, we have been leaders, especially on innovations. We have reshaped the entire communications industry in the country.
These days when one talks of communication, people think of mobile phones but there are other areas where utl are dominant players as well. Even in the mobile sector, we have also played a big role there.
UTL has embraced the importance of converging of IT and telephony services and this is one of the reasons of re-branding, inorder to promote ourselves as a one-stop centre for telephony, data and IT services.
