KIGALI – Rwandair Express is rolling out an elaborate flight schedule to regain its regional market share with daily flights to Entebbe and a tri-weekly domestic flight to Cyangugu, Rwanda.
Mr. Manzi Kayihura, the new chief executive, said last week that the airline also intends to regain its suspended route to Kilimanjaro to increase its flight schedule.“Starting August 15, we are launching flights to Kamembe airport in Cyangugu,” he said.
“We’ll also have daily flights to Entebbe except on Saturday. I am going to meet our partners, the tour operators to explain these new developments this weekend,” he added.
Manzi, also disclosed that Rwandair had entered into bilateral relations with South African Airways to fly on the southern route once a week and with the same fair. With a fleet of two aircraft, to be beefed up with three others, the airline appears set for a what will be a hard struggle to regain its short-lived glory.
