The legal aviation body in Uganda, Civil Aviation Authority is set to construct 55 parking bays that will be used by the 55 aircrafts of presidents visiting during the CHOGM 2007 in Uganda. At the old international airport, an additional 52,000 sqm is being constructed to accommodate about half of the presidential jets while the other planes will be accommodated at the new airport terminal. The overall cost of the project is about 63b. This includes installation of a Radar system and air conditioning The terminal which was also destroyed by the Israel during the 1976 raid on Uganda is now being renovated.
