Don McKinnon,the Secretary General of the Commonwealth, met President Yoweri Museveni at State House yesterday.
McKinnon was accompanied by the director for communications and public affairs, Joel Kibazo and the special adviser on political affairs, Prof. Ade Adefuye. The two discussed governance, northern Uganda and the progress on the Commonwealth Heads of Government meeting (CHOGM) in November 2007.
McKinnon said that over 2,000 guests will spend money in this country. I advise countries hosting CHOGM not to spend money on something they are not going to use after the meeting. President Museveni assured the delegation that strategies were underway to improve control of traffic in Kampala and also provide effective communication.
