Ms Juliet Praise Asiimwe Akankwasa crown miss Uganda 2005 and a journalism student left the country on November 8th to represent Uganda at the 55th Miss World beauty pageant at a show attended by about 3000 people at Rui’an Stadium in Wenzhou province in the South Eastern of China.
Ms Asiimwe 5 ’7 inches tall wrote and recited a poem ‘The African Child’ which she composed for the talent show at Miss World beauty pageant. She was the only African beauty queen who won at the talent show on Sunday.
Miss American Virgin Islands, Kmisha Victoria Counts, won the singing category; dance was won by Miss Jamaica, Terri Karelle Girffith, while Miss People’s Republic of China, Ting Ting Zhao was the winner of the traditional dance.
Guests who attended the show included Julia Merley, the Chairperson Miss world Organizing committee, the mayor of Wenzhou and the reigning Miss World, Maria Julia Mantilla Garcia.
Miss world beauty pageant will take place on 10th December in China.
