What do Land Surveyors do in Uganda?

Land Surveyors
Land surveying is an important stage in securing land or getting development on land whether it is for commercial or residential purposes. Normally, the process of land surveying is a complex of measurement and mapping for any elements such as geographical features, productivity of land and stability among others. The range of services offered by experts in land surveying vary from resource applications, works in rural or urban areas, site survey  details, land partitions, photogrammetric survey controls, land stability and proclamations to mention a few!
The role of expert surveyors is to establish and verify boundaries on land through measurements, mapping and other observations. Getting such specifics on private property or a piece of land you intend to purchase helps prevent possible allegations on ownership, encroachment and any other disputes and claims that could arise in any circumstances.
Before making any major developments on the piece of land such as building perimeter walls and fencing, it is important that all these constructions are lawful, with evidence of measurement from land surveyors and compliancy to building & construction regulations from local authorities.
The ever growing population in the country has led to increased demand for land for residential and commercial purposes both in the rural and urban areas. The value of land and costs in the real estate business has thus taken an upward move thus the increase in demand for services of land surveyors. Some of the developments on land that require inspection and services of land surveyors include building of residential houses, tunnels, bridges, commercial building and roads among others. The role of surveyors is to provide legal documentation that addressed any questions from authorities in the ministry of land and regulatory bodies concerned with building regulation and urban planning.
The process of land surveying is easier and faster with the new information technology systems and software. Accuracy is a guarantee with GPS (Global Positioning Satellite) and other new technologies used in Land surveying. GPS helps identify and make any accurate details on mapping, existing structures, boundaries and the landscape of the land in question. GPS is best suited to extensive survey needs such as mapping out topography areas of commercial developments, farm and land for large scale agriculture among many other projects.
Expert land surveyors have duty of setting out which involves cooperation with contractors in mapping out the actual location of a buildings and developments on the piece of land.  It is this information that is used by the building contractor on site to make any prior arrangement before building foundations are laid. Inquire for more of such additional services from professional land surveyors.
