Gorilla Tracking Rwanda
The largest living creature of the apes family is the gorilla. This endangered species has other family members including the Orang - utan and the Chimpanzee.
The gorilla is divided into 3 species namely,
Western Lowland Gorilla, scientific name; gorilla gorilla gorilla, You will meet these mostly in zoos and theme parks. About 50, 000 of these western low land gorillas live in the Western part of Africa.
Eastern Lowland Gorilla, scientific name, ( gorilla, gorilla, graueri ) abour 2, 500, half the western lowland gorilla like the the thick forests of Congo.
Mountain gorilla, gorilla, gorilla beringei, so far the most endangered of the gorillas and apes, with only about 700; left in the whole universe! You will find them in the afro montane forests of Uganda, Rwanda and the DRC.
Its true that the Mountain gorillas can never survive in captivity. This partly explains why they are not in any zoo!
Gorilla Tracking Rwanda information
Mountain gorillas are the major attraction in Uganda, Rwanda and Congo. The only remaining population of these endangered apes needs to be conserved by you and me. All policies in these 3 destinations encourage conservation of wildlife in the parks and environmental protection of the natural resources. We also echo the same sentiments and believe in conservacy trends. We dont not encourage hunting sfaris in any way.
