Uganda Community Tourism Association (UCOTA)

The Uganda Community Tourism Association is a non governmental organisation which was founded with the support of the Uganda Tourist Board in order to supervise, coordinate and optimize the standards of the many community tourism initiatives which have sprung up in recent years.

UCOTA provides these geographically scattered and once disparate ventures with training, funding and a sense of shared vision.

UCOTA gives the members a sense of pride and ownership and among the benefits to members are anoverall improvement of facilities and services, enhanced intercommunity communications and economies of scale.

the objective is to create a nation wide standard so visitors can be assured of accommodation, crafts, catering, interpretation and other facilities are all managed and monitored to provide the highest possible levels of consistent excellence.

UCOTA is supported by the North Carolina Zoological Park.
