At times permits may not be available to see the gorillas in Uganda. In this case the gorilla viewing will take place just over the Uganda / Rwanda border. Our staff has been to Rwanda and all have enjoyed it and will be happy to discuss it with you.
Day 1 – Arrive Entebbe, Lake Victoria Hotel, 1 night
Arrive Entebbe where you will be met at the airport and transferred to the Lake Victoria Hotel, Entebbe, an old colonial-style hotel with views over Lake Victoria. Its facilities include a formal dining area with an outside terrace, 2 bars, breakfast room and pool with another bar and restaurant area. The meals include European style food, an Indian and Chinese menu.Chimpanzee Trekking and Gorilla Safari The atmosphere is quiet and relaxing. A complementary shuttle service operates to and from the airport for all flights – about 8 minutes drive away.
Depending on your arrival time you may spend the afternoon visiting Ngamba Island Chimpanzee Reserve on Lake Victoria, where orphaned chimpanzees have been relocated under the management of a group of dedicated conservationists including the Jane Goodall Institute. (Depending on your arrival / departure flights this may also be enjoyed on the last day of your stay in Uganda).

Day 2 - Lake Mburo Tented Camp, 1 night Primate Safari, Great Apes Uganda-Rwanda Safari 8 days.
After breakfast, drive to Lake Mburo National Park to overnight in a tented camp, there will be time for a game drive and walk.
Lying in the one part of Uganda covered in extensive acacia woodland, Mburo has markedly different fauna to other reserves. It is the the best place in Uganda to see the gigantic eland antelope, as well as zebra, topi, impala, and several acacia-associated birds.
The five lakes within the park attract hippos, crocodiles and a variety of water birds, while fringing swamps hide secretive papyrus specialists such as the sitatunga antelope and red, black and yellow papyrus gonalek.

Day 3 - Gorilla Safari to Uganda Bwindi 3 days, Bwindi Impenetrable Forest or Parc National de Volcans, 2 nights lodge
Continue to the west of Uganda, along mountain roads to either Bwindi Impenetrable Forest or Parc National des Volcans, Rwanda gorilla sanctuary – depending on where permits are held.
The lodges in this part of Africa are not as stylish as some but they are comfortable you will usually have en suite bathroom with hot & cold running water and flush loo. Some are located with views over the forest canopy, Mountain Rwenzori Climbing tour. some provide individual cottages with a private verandah. Lighting is by solar power. Meals are taken in a central dining area where a fireplace provides warmth in the cool evenings.
Bwindi's Impenetrable Forest is ‘Tarzan’s Jungle’ and it is mysterious and awesome!. It is filled with dense undergrowth; vines and other vegetation make it almost 'impenetrable'. This is one of Africa’s richest ecosystems and at least 120 species of mammal are found here including mountain gorillas, chimpanzee and 8 other species of primate. Uganda Gorilla Safari There are elephant, bush pig, giant forest hog, many species of bats and rodents and at least 346 species of birds including rare forest birds. The numbers go on and on ... 27 species of frogs and toads, 6 chameleons at least 202 species of butterfly.

Day 4 - Gorilla trek
An early morning trek into the forest on the slopes of the volcanoes, led by experienced trackers you have an excellent chance of spending time with a family of Mountain Gorillas. These massive primates are extremely rare, Uganda Chimpanzee tour and Gorilla trekking Tour only approximately 600 remain and to date none have been bred in captivity. Mountain Gorillas are wild animals, as such sightings cannot be guaranteed, however the success rate is well over 90%.
The trekking may be fairly strenuous; up to six hours or longer is not uncommon – at relatively high altitude. Returning to the camp for a late lunch, we have an opportunity for forest walks with the guides, or just to relax.

Day 5 – More Gorillas & then on to Game, Ishasha Camp or Mweya Lodge, 1 night
This morning there is a further trekking opportunity, permits must be purchased in advance as they are rarely available on the day. There is the ption of a forest walk to look for birds and other primates. Later in the day depart for Queen Elizabeth Safari Uganda 3 days Queen Elizabeth National Park and spend a night at either Ishasha Tented Camp or Mweya Lodge.

Day 6 & 7 – Queen Elizabeth National Park, 2 nights lodge accommodation
Game drives in the varied landscapes & habitats of Queen Elizabeth National Park, a Kazinga Channel cruise is included. There is the option of a chimp trek in Kyambura Gorge.
Queen Elizabeth National Park is a wonderful and especially scenic place, with two lakes connected by a channel overlooked by a high peninsula. In addition to the lakes there are volcanic craters, grassy plains, papyrus swamps, open savannahs and tropical forests. Murchison safari tour 3 days As a result of such varied habitats, QENP has one of the highest biodiversity ratings in the world, with almost 100 mammal species and an incredible 606 bird species.
Kyambura (pronounced Chambura) Gorilla Tracking in Uganda Gorge on the northeast boundary of the Park is real Tarzan territory with thick treetop canopies and vines dangling down to the soft forest floor. The terrain comes complete with chimpanzees that crash about and chatter high up in the branches.

Day 8 – Depart Uganda
Return to Entebbe via Kampala markets and stalls, Airport transfer for those departing in the evening is included. You may like to overnight night at Lake Victoria and visit the Ngamba Chimpanzee Tours and Gorilla Treks Chimp Sanctuary the following day, before flying out, or you can overnight on Ngamba Island. Day 8 accommodation is not included and will be at extra cost.

Children under 15 are not permitted to visit the gorillas.

SAFARI STYLE
IMPORTANT INFORMATION – GORILLA PERMITS
Uganda - Permits to view gorillas in Uganda are in high demand, with only 12 to 16 people per day being allowed to view at Bwindi and 6 at Mgahinga.
Rwanda – there are four family groups of gorillas for trekking in Rwanda, with a total of 30 permits per day being available.
In all cases the GORILLA PERMIT WILL BE PRE-BOOKED and PREPAID prior to final confirmation of the safari.
SAFARI CREW
The guides are Uganda based and in the full time employ of the company. They are experienced professionals with a broad understanding and knowledge of the flora and fauna of Uganda as well as the history and culture of the region. They have been trained in First Aid by Uganda Red Cross.
SMALL & PERSONALISED GROUPS
The group size varies from 2 to 12 passengers. If there are more than 8 passengers you will normally be in two vehicles with 2 guides.
SAFARI VEHICLE FEATURES
The vehicles are based in and maintained at the company’s Entebbe workshop. They are newly modified land cruises and carry up to 8 passengers in comfort. Each traveller is guaranteed a window seat and there are game viewing hatches and plenty of leg room. All vehicles are equipped with first ad kits, light refreshments and the guide carries a mobile phone.
ACCOMMODATION & MEALS
On this safari you will stay at comfortable hotels and lodges. As we all know terrible things happened in Uganda’s past and only in the last 10 or so years has tourism been developing here. Although the hotels and lodges are not stylish or opulent you will find them to be clean and basically comfortable. Likewise the cuisine will be wholesome and nutritious, but don’t expect a gourmand’s delight!
LUGGAGE & PERSONAL EFFECTS
You should travel with a small soft luggage bag (you can of course leave luggage at the Lake Victoria Hotel while you are on safari) plus a camera bag / day pack. Any luggage in excess of 12kg or large suitcases may not be accepted.
PERSONAL EFFECTS
Travel light with light, casual clothing for the day and a fleecy/jersey or tracksuit for the evenings. Bring a good pair of worn-in walking boots or walking shoes as well as a water proof jacket for trekking Uganda Wildlife Safari in the forests as they seem to be constantly damp. Bring a water bottle, hat, sunscreen, binoculars, camera and spare film. Allow enough money for souvenirs, drinks & tipping. A detailed ‘what to pack’ list will be provided well before you travel.
AFRICAN CONDITIONS
Travelling in Africa is sometimes unpredictable and at times the itinerary will change to take local conditions into account. Unforeseen circumstances due to problems with road conditions, weather, Uganda Safari Adventure, mechanical breakdown etc can delay & change the performance of the safari. Please come prepared.

After a few months since the announcement by the Uganda Wildlife Authority, that the Gorilla trekking permits will be increased from USD 375 to USD 500, its now official what the increase has taken effect this July, 2007.

Lake Mburo national park
Located south of Kampala city, the park extends over 260 sq km with an altitude ranging from 1220m to 1828 m above sea level. Lake Mburo is the largest of the five lakes that lie within the park. The park is a home of the handsome Impala, zebra, waterbuck, eland and oribi these inhabit the open plains with a greater concentration of bufallo found in the southern marshes. Mburo has rich flora and acacia woodland, succulent aloes, climbing vines and euphorbia. Magnificent boat rides on the lake are also organized.
