Choosing the best Tour Operator for your African Safari.
Perhaps one of the top safari questions asked here and there. Choice is a matter of preference but it becomes hard when there are so many tour operators offering the safari type of your choice.
1. Let not price be the major reason as to why you are choosing the safari company. Its not true that the best is the cheapest! Think carefully about the services offered, the vehicle, accommodation, e.t.c you need to find the right and comfortable place or reasonably good for your safari. So cheap doesnt mean best. Moderate price is encouraged.
2. Get a chance to know the company and its his experience, look through the client testimonials and different forums about the company. This is the best way to find out scammy companies. You can also write here at aboutuganda.com if you are not sure about a certain company.
3. Credibility. Find out about the company and its membership on various recognised websites. In Kenya, you have the KATO, Uganda the AUTO, and Tanzania TATO. Others include SATSA - Southern Africa Tourism Services Association, ATTA - African Travel and Tourism Association TASA - Tours and Safari Association of Namibia, and ASTA - American Society of Travel Agents.
Membership doesnot necessarily mean the company is credible but it helps to know that the company you want to deal with is listed here.
4. Safari type, Find out if on the safari there are many people. You can get a good price but then with no privacy in the vehicle due to different groups travelling at the sametime. Inquire whether its a private safari or group safari.

5. Please and please go through the cancellation policy and payment policies. look through the refund policy, payment plan and timing of reservations. You could easily lose money when you decide to cancel the safari.
