Ssese Islands: Tour Operators and Travel Information

The 84 lush Equatorial Ssese Islands form worlds of their own on their extra ordinary lake Victoria. There is a lot of wildlife to see, delightful empty beaches, friendly islanders and peaceful environment providing an excellent opportunity for fishing, bird watching, boating and walking.

The wide range of tourist attractions include unique fauna and flora ranging from Savannah to forest and Alpine Vegetation.

The largest and most populated Island is Buggala with its main town at Kalangala. Other Islands which can be visited include, Bubeke, Bukasa, Banda and Bufumira.

Access: Drive to Masaka, and then down to Bukakata and take the motor ferry across to Luku on Buggala Road.

Alternatively, you can hire a motor boat and skipper for the day with some private tour operators based in Entebbe.

Bukasa Island:
This is the second largest Island,and it has a beautifull location over looking the lake , it is a friendly place - there are both rooms and space for camping , a limited range of food .

Panorama camping Site A bit of a derelict place that has seen better dats and more visitors Food and drinks are available with small shops in the near by area.
