Mt Elgon NP Lodges
This is the 4th highest mountain in the whole of East Africa. It climaxs at 4321 metres.
On a mount Elgon tour, you will be impressed by the magficent water falls, historical caves, gorges and a variety of hot springs.
The advantage of trekking mount elgon is that little skills or equipment is required. Actually all major peaks of this mountain are easily accesible by nay hiker.
Trekking the mountain elgon fully takes about 4-5 days although custom trails can take 3 days, that is a distance of about 3 to 7 kms.
Attractions not to be missed include the Sipi Falls located 66kms north of Mbale town enroute forest exploration centre and Kapkwata.
Getting to Mbale.
Mbale is easily accesible by road. About 4 hours can get you to the town.
Mbale is still ranked among the top for the cleanest town in Uganda. It offers basic and ordinary accommodation for your tour to the Elgon Mountains.
While on the trek, you will access 5 basic campsites around the trekking circuit. These Uganda Wildlife Authority campsites provide a better alternative for affordable accommodation
