Masai Mara (3 Days)
Day 1 Nairobi/ Masai Mara Safari Kenya
8.45 to 9.15 A.M. Pick from your Nairobi hotel. 9.30 A.M. Depart for the Masai Mara Game Reserve, stopping at the viewpoint of the Great Rift Valley and at Narok town for lunch. Arrive in time for a late afternoon game drive in this park, which is essentially the northern extension of Tanzania's Serengeti National Park as an artificial border only separates the two. Dinner and overnight at the lodge.
Day 2 Masai Mara Kenya Safari
Early breakfast followed by a full day of game drives within the reserve. The Masai Mara is famous for it's black maned lions, elephants and buffalo that make three out of the 'big five' though luck is essential for spotting the other two namely leopard and rhino which are rather shy and elusive. The park's animal concentration and abundance is second to none. We will cater for a picnic lunch at the hippo pool where with luck you may spot crocodiles basking on the rocks. Numerous plains game including antelopes, wildebeest, zebra, Masai giraffe can be seen as well as scavengers like hyena and vulture. Rest of meals and overnight at the lodge.
Day 3 Masai Mara/Nairobi Kenya Camping Safari
After breakfast and your last game drive, depart the Mara region for Nairobi with lunch enroute, arriving in the late afternoon/early evening.
MASAI MARA/ LAKE NAKURU
NAT 384 - MASAI MARA/ LAKE NAKURU (4 DAYS)
Day 1 Nairobi/Masai Mara
8.45 to 9.15A.M. We will pick you from your Nairobi hotel then depart for the Masai Mara Game Reserve at 9.30 A.M. There will be a stop at the viewpoint of the Great Rift whose view of the valley below is splendidly panoramic and another stop for lunch and re-fuelling at Narok town. On arrival proceed on a game drive in this world-famous reserve, due to its high animal concentration and abundance and it's yearly seasonal migration of wildebeest and zebra. Dinner and overnight at the lodge.
Day 2 Masai Mara
After breakfast proceed for a day of tracking game with your guide. All the big five may be seen namely elephant, buffalo and lion; the sighting of rhino and leopard which make the total five cannot be guaranteed as they are few in number, very shy and elusive. Break for your leisurely picnic lunch at the hippo pool. Towards the day's end, return to the lodge for dinner and an overnight stay.
Day 3 Masai Mara/Nakuru Kenya Tours
Early morning pre-breakfast game drive. After breakfast depart for Nakuru for dinner and overnight at a lodge, lunch enroute. While on the highway Mt. Longonot (which is of volcanic origin) and Lake Naivasha can be seen from afar.
Day 4 Lake Nakuru/Nairobi
After breakfast proceed on a game drive in Lake Nakuru National Park, which has a fantastic array of bird life including flamingos, white pelicans and the marabou stork, all water birds, that breed in the lake's alkaline waters. You may spot white rhino and the rare Rothschild's giraffe that has five horns instead of the usual three and clear instead of spotted shanks (legs). A visit to the baboon cliff offers a scenic panorama of the lake below, surrounded by a vast tract of euphorbia and acacia forest. Makalia falls within the park are an additional attraction. After lunch, return to Nairobi, arriving in the late afternoon/early evening.
NAT 385 - MASAI MARA/LAKE NAKURU (5 DAYS)
Day 1 Nairobi/Masai Mara
8.45 to 9.15a.m pick from your Nairobi hotel. 9.30 A.M. Depart for the Masai Mara Game Reserve, stopping at the view - point of the Great Rift Valley and at Narok town for lunch. Arrive in time for a late afternoon/early evening game drive in this 'big game country' famed worldwide for it's high animal concentration, abundance and variety. Dinner and overnight at the lodge.
Day 2 Masai Mara
Early breakfast then proceed for a full day of tracking game with your guide in this park whose landscape is savannah grassland on rolling hills. Virtually every type of animal is found in the Mara, which has an extensive road, and track network, which allows excellent photography and viewing opportunities, making it the best and most visited park in Kenya. We will cater for a picnic lunch at the hippo pool. In the evening, drive back to the lodge for dinner and overnight.
Day 3 Masai Mara
Early breakfast followed by a morning game drive. Lunch at the lodge. Afternoon option game drive or nature walk with our Masai guides; at extra cost you may visit a local Masai village to see their nomadic lifestyle. All activities will end in the evening then retire for the night after dinner at the lodge.
Day 4 Masai Mara/Nakuru
Early cup of tea or coffee then proceed on your final pre-breakfast game drive. Return to the lodge or campsite for a late breakfast then depart the Mara region for Nakuru, with lunch enroute. Dinner and overnight stay at the lodge.
Day 5 Lake Nakuru/Nairobi
After breakfast proceed on a game drive in Nakuru Park, which has prolific bird life including flamingos, white pelicans and the marabou stork among others. Waterbuck and Cape buffalo can be seen near the shoreline. Rothschild’s giraffe and the white rhino are additional attractions among other species of plains game and cats like lion. With luck you may spot leopard, which is rather elusive. Lunch in Nakuru then depart for Nairobi, arriving in the late afternoon/early evening.
NAT 383 - Maasai Mara and lakes Nakuru, Bogoria and Baringo(6 Days)
Day 1 Nairobi/Masai Mara
Having been picked up from your hotel, depart Nairobi at 9.30 A.M. Drive to the Masai Mara arriving in time for a late afternoon/early evening game drive, stopping at the Great Rift Valley viewpoint and at Narok town for lunch and re-fuelling. Dinner and overnight at the lodge.
Day 2 Masai Mara
Breakfast will be followed by a full day of game drives within the reserve. You will have a break at the hippo pool for your picnic lunch. At the Mara you should expect to see three out of the big five namely elephant, lion and buffalo though luck is essential to track the other two that is rhino and leopard which are very shy and elusive. A wide variety of antelopes and other plains game can be seen. Scavengers like hyena and vulture are common. Return to the lodge for dinner and an overnight stay.
Day 3 Masai Mara
After breakfast depart on a morning game drive in this reserve, which is essentially the northern extension of Tanzania's Serengeti National Park. Lunch at the lodge or campsite. In the afternoon you have a choice of three activities:- a game drive or a nature walk with our Masai guides; the final choice is a visit to a Masai village to see their nomadic lifestyle at an extra cost payable directly to the Masai villagers. All activities end at the lodge by 6.30 p.m. where you will retire for the night after dinner.
Day 4 Masai Mara/Nakuru
Early morning pre-breakfast game drive. After breakfast depart the Mara region for Nakuru for dinner and overnight at the lodge, stopping for lunch enroute to Nakuru.
Day 5 Lake Baringo/Bogoria
Early breakfast then proceed to Lake Baringo for an hour's boat ride which enables you to see hippos at close range and the bird life that inhabits this lake as over 350 species of birds have been recorded here including some that conform to a migratory pattern, as well as crocodiles and Egyptian geese which migrate all the way from western Europe. Lunch in Baringo then drive back to Nakuru for dinner and overnight at the lodge via Lake Bogoria to view flamingos and the hot springs.
Day 6 Lake Nakuru/Nairobi
After breakfast depart your base lodge for a game drive in the nearby Lake Nakuru National Park where there are flamingos, white pelicans, marabou stork and a variety of other water birds that breed in the lake's alkaline waters. Plains game, Rothschild's giraffe, Cape buffalo and lion can also be seen. Lunch in Nakuru then depart for Nairobi, arriving in the evening.
