Process for CHOGM 2007
The procurement for goods, Services and works in the preparation for
CHOGM 2007 will be undertaken by the above-mentioned sub committees
in line with the laws governing the procurement process in the Government
of the Republic of Uganda.
It is important for the general public to note that:
The Chairpersons of the Sub-Committees who are the Accounting Officers
are responsible for drawing up the procurement PLANS FOR THEIR SECTORS
IN Accordance with the requirements of the Public Procurement and
Disposal of Public Assets Acts (PPDA).
The line Ministries under which the Sub-Committees fall, shall undertake
the procurements of goods, services, works for those Sub-Committees
through their procurement and Disposal Units (PDUs) and Contracts
Committees.
Effective competition to supply goods or services shall be evidenced
by the use of either open bidding or restricted bidding or quotations
and proposals methods of procurement.
For the preferred open bidding method of procurement of goods and
services which will be identified to be supplied for the CHOGM 2007,
the bid notices for information of the public in general, and in
particular prospective bidders, shall be published in the newspapers
of wide circulation in the country. The advertisements shall conform
to the minimum advertisement periods that are set by the PPDA Act.
