Boa vista: This idyllic island, the third largest in the archipelago measuring only 620km is the closest to the African coast and can be reached from the main island of Sal via a short flight or by boat.
Fringed with over 55km of unspoiled fine sandy beaches lapped by crystal clear water, the island is ideal for water sports enthusiasts and sunbathers and swimmers alike, whilst in the summer is the breeding ground for Turtles.
It also, reputed to be the resting place of many ancient ship wrecks including the Italian Cecilia complete with its precious cargos of gold coins!
